Account & data
Delete your Dutcho account and data
You can delete your Dutcho account, and the personal data associated with it, at any time. Here's how — and exactly what is removed.
Delete your account from the app
The fastest way is directly in the Dutcho app:
- Open Dutcho and go to Profile (or Settings).
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and associated personal data are permanently deleted.
Can't access the app?
If you're unable to sign in, you can request deletion by email. Write to dutcho.app@gmail.com from the email address on your Dutcho account, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll verify the request and delete your account and associated personal data, usually within a few business days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data tied to it, including:
- Your profile — name, email address, phone number, profile photo and UPI ID.
- Your expenses, groups, settlements and comments that belong to you.
- Your account credentials and sign-in identifiers.
What may be kept, and why
Dutcho is a shared bill-splitting app, so some records are jointly owned by more than one person. Where an expense or settlement you were part of is also part of another person's balance, that shared record may be retained so their history and balances stay accurate — but it is disassociated from your personal identity (your name is no longer linked to it). We may also retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse.
Retention period
Your personal data is deleted from our active systems immediately when your account is deleted. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis and removed within 30 days.
In short
Delete your account in Profile → Delete account, or email dutcho.app@gmail.com. Your personal data is removed immediately and purged from backups within 30 days; shared records that others rely on are kept only in a form no longer linked to you.
