Dutcho (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a shared-expenses app that helps friends, couples, and groups split bills without drama. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

We collect the following information when you use Dutcho:
- Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided).
- Expense data: amounts, descriptions, categories, group memberships, and split details you enter.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version for crash diagnostics.
- Usage data: anonymised in-app interactions to improve the product.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Dutcho service.
- To calculate and display balances between you and your group members.
- To send you notifications related to your expenses and settlements.
- To improve the app and fix bugs.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited cases:
- Group members: your name and expense data is visible to members of groups you join.
- Service providers: we use Supabase for database and authentication. They process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access data they are authorised to see. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing dutcho.app@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
- Access to your personal data
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion of your data
- Portability of your data
- Objection to certain processing
